Last Monday 1 4th June 2021, the Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that from next Monday 21st June 2021, the 30 person maximum number of people who can attend a wedding will be removed. Any limits on guests will be set by wedding venues based on social distancing requirements.

Risk assessments will be carried out by venues, adjacent to our own, which will be left to establish the safe numbers allowed. The reception must be table service only - no buffets.

Some restrictions on weddings will remain, however, such as singing and also a ban on dancing, except for the first dance, while for private ceremonies outdoors, dancing will not be illegal, but will be strongly advised against.

Guests will be told to sit at tables of up to six people and receptions will be table service only.

For weddings taking place inside private homes, the limit of six individuals will remain, with an exception in place for deathbed ceremonies where 30 people can attend.

Over the next few days, we alongside venues, & other suppliers on the Isle of Wight will be weighing up what this means for us and our customers.

We totally agree with the government that the health of the public must come first, but despite not getting the full reopening news we really wanted, the new date of Monday 19th July 2021 is only 31 days away and we will be working with our customers, venues and other island suppliers to now prepare for this new date.

For weddings between Monday 21st June 2021 & Monday 19th July 2021, we have had confirmation from the UK Weddings Taskforce, who are currently liaising with the government via an All-Party Parliamentary Group for weddings, that photobooths & Fun Casinos ARE allowed at wedding receptions and celebrations.

Please Note: As has been the standard over the last 15 months, we always recommend our customers speak with us before making changes to their bookings with venues which could affect bookings with Shuffles Events. We may not be able to assist with your booking with us if changes are made without speaking with us before the changes are made with venues.

Take care and stay safe!
